CLING successfully installs its first CO2 A/C on Yutong E-bus

Jan 06, wonderful weather and an inspiring event to kick off the new year 2021!

It is a memorable day today, our CO2 prototype A/C is successfully installed on our electric bus and Yutong experts inspected this new product. 
This is a milestone on our tech-tree and our social responsibility on environment protection.

CLING starts its R&D on CO2 A/C since 2019, we gathered our elite engineers together with Doctors of Shanghai Jiaotong University, developed CO2 A/C product basing on different tech routes. Today, CLING debuts its CO2 technology innovated according to its LEZDD-06 intelligent central heat mangement system, by second-time heat exchange, CO2 system cools and heats the coolant (water) to regulate bus internal climate.

O2, AKA R744 has very low GWP, and is excellent in heating, but compressing pressure is very high, requiring HVAC company to really harness it. 
We look forward to the day when it is mature and can be put to market to serve worldwide buses!

Knowhow of CO2 as refrigerant:

(1) Do not destroy the ozone layer.

(2) The global warming potential (GWP) is 1. ghgemissions/understanding-global-warming-potentials

(3) Easy to obtain (from industrial waste gas), very low cost.

(4) It has no short-term, medium-term and long-term harm to human health and environment, so it does not need to be recycled or reprocessed.

(5) Non toxic and does not decompose irritants.

(6) Non flammable and non explosive.

(7) Excellent thermal properties.

(8) Traditional mineral lubricating oil can be used in CO2 refrigerant system.

(9) In general, the heat dissipation process of CO2 system in summer is through or beyond the critical point. Because there is no actual condensation phenomenon, the heat exchanger for heat dissipation is called gas cooler.

(10) For the same outlet temperature of gas cooler, the higher the outlet pressure of compressor, the greater the refrigeration capacity.

(11) The compression ratio is low. When the condensation temperature of R-134a is 50 and the evaporation temperature is 0 , the compression ratio is 4.3; while when the outlet temperature of CO2 gas cooler is 37 and the evaporation temperature is 0 , the compression ratio is 2.6. At the same time, the compression ratio of the compressor is reduced, and the compression process can be closer to isentropic compression, so that the efficiency is improved.

(12) The approximate temperature of the gas cooler is much lower than that of R-134a (10 ~ 15 ° K).

(13) With the same volume of evaporator, the diameter of CO2 is small and the number of tube rows is more.

(14) Because of the high system pressure, the refrigerant distribution of CO2 in the evaporator is more uniform.

(15) High gas density, can reduce the use of pipeline and compressor size, and make the system weight, compact structure, small volume.
